LancasterHeritageAllies.org – Mission:

To share information and commentary about the many threats and abundant opportunities affecting the treasured historic buildings, neighborhoods, farmland and natural resources of Lancaster County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, so that citizens can fully embrace their environmental rights, and also to work with those elected to public office to help them recognize their Constitutional duty and responsibility to proactively protect and preserve the environment in all of its forms.

The Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania states:

“The people have a right to clean air, pure water, and to the preservation of the natural, scenic, historic and aesthetic values of the environment. Pennsylvania’s public natural resources are the common property of all the people, including generations yet to come. As trustee of these resources, the Commonwealth shall conserve and maintain them for the benefit of all the people.”

Article I, Section 27  – The Environmental Rights Amendment.
Approved in 1971 by a 4-1 ratio in a statewide referendum
